DESIGN
Good design is more than just aesthetics. It’s providing creative solutions to a unique set of problems, from site conditions to budget constraints to individual client circumstances. Perhaps more important, though, is that it’s not just figuring out how to work within these perceived limitations; it’s discovering, and taking advantage of, the opportunities those limitations present.
That’s not to say it’s not about appearance. Ugliness is just another problem to be solved, after all. Besides, if you wanted what everyone else has – like, say, yet another beige structure built to the minimum code standards – you wouldn’t be here right now.
Because there’s really no single solution to a given design problem (but rather a number of approaches across a range of possibilities), our job is to seek to understand what you’re looking for; to bring design fundamentals like rhythm and proportion, order and light, form and function into play; and, ultimately, to arrive at the best solution for your needs.
That’s our design process. And that takes creativity.
